Kill Jill’s Awesome Thing Of The Week: FreePoverty.com

FreePoverty.com is a neat little website devoted to donating water to the people of the poorest nations on the planet. And BONUS- you donate water by testing your geography skills! (Here’s a secret about your little pal Kill Jill: I took Geography in high school and actually enjoyed learning where the countries are.)

If you get close to the place they request, you get a few cups of water. If you get right on, you get 10 cups. I’ve played a couple of times and I’m up to 402 cups in total.

I know this sounds cliché… but donating water has never been so much fun!

If you want to get better at your geography before testing out this game, check out this website! (It pretty much saved my life when it came to exam time in my geography class.)

If your geography skills are still lacking but your vocabulary is more impressive, visit FreeRice.com and donate rice (for free, obviously) to impoverished countries.

[This was a late addition to this entry, but worth a visit.] Another website that tests your vocabulary while helping people is AIDtoCHILDREN.com. It works directly with World Vision and donates .25 cents per right answer.

If you want to donate for free, you should also check out these websites:
