My regulars, my stalkers and my casual flings know I’m a long-time fan of Stephen Colbert and his satirical talk show, The Colbert Report. So, when I heard he was making putting out a Christmas special featuring the awesomeness that is Feist, Jon Stewart and Elvis Costello (and, of course, himself), I pretty much had an aneurysm of Christmas joy. It was so funny! And, assuming that was actually Stephen singing (I can’t see him lip-synching… but then again, he’s no Milli Vanilli), he’s got an impressive set.
Of pipes. Vocal chords, people… Don’t be gross- it’s the holidays for God sake!
Anyway, if you weren’t able to catch it on Comedy Central, you can pick the DVD up. It makes a great stocking stuffer!
Then again, isn’t that what everyone says around the holidays in order to sell small items? “It makes a great stocking stuffer”? That’s like saying, “Hey! This $7 million ruby ring fits in a stocking- that must make it a stocking stuffer too!”
Anyway, it was really funny and, satirical and intentionally cheesy as it was, it put me in the Christmas spirit, hard-core.
