Kill Jill: Behind the Wheel
My life has suddenly gone from medium speed with little stress to high-speed. With Wi-fi. And on a 3G network.
And I’m going to pretend I know what a 3G network is. Because I was hired (today!) for the summer as a tech support wench for a particular electronics company that shall remain nameless. Let’s just say Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are fans of their products.
In addition to this change in my life, I’ve also started driver’s ed. Yes, I’m 22 and now learning how to drive. Yes, I should’ve learned ages ago. I am fully aware. Now, I’m sitting in a room full of 16-yr-olds every Wednesday after school.
I even had to pass in my old driver’s ID for a new one, since I got my last ID while in another province. Giving that up was a bit weird, I have to say. I love City X but my ID was something I was still attached to- something that separated me from the pack. And now I’m one of the pack. Kind of.
And then there’s school. I have a month left and I am officially done Journalism at College X. What a strange, strange thought. I graduate in late May. The whole cap-and-gown bit. I’ll miss the program in some ways. In some ways, I so won’t. (Political stories just aren’t my bag, baby.) But some of the first-year kids have become my closest friends. They’re on their internships right now and I miss them already. And it’s only been a week!
I’ve applied to the Multimedia program at College X for next year but have yet to receive my acceptance letter. I’m confident though.
Another significant stage of my life has just flitted by like a feather in the breeze.
(Y’know. Like that one at the first and end of Forrest Gump. You know what I’m talkin’ about, right? Right?!)
